Blogging is still hot. We’re seeing more and more visual elements being incorporated into blog posts, such as videos and infographics. This trend continues to grow and increase as organizations apply more inbound strategies to their marketing plans.
Of course adding fresh content is important, but more important than frequency is rhythm. Come up with a regular content calendar; something readers can count on. Whether you post once a day or three to four times a week, commit to what you’re doing on a regular basis in order to meet your readers’ expectations.
Create content that’s relevant for your audience. It gets old if you keep pushing out one key point. Instead, build solid comprehensive stories with a beginning, middle and an end. Content should teach readers something, and that provides value. Also, a blog has to have “readability,” in other words, writing that has personality and is appealing.
Add variety to your posts. There are lots of blog entry types - profile posts (who we are, about our team), tutorial posts (how to plan an event, how to engage attendees), comparison posts (compare caterers, wait service vs buffets), lists (top ten centerpieces this season), reviews (venues, accommodations), styles that are popular and trending (the hottest linen colors). Mix things up and you’ll keep your readers interested and coming back for more.
