Spring is coming (we swear it is!). Whether you’re planning an indoor or outdoor event, it’s critical that your surroundings make a lasting impression on your guests. Consider some of these in fashion décor, linen, and lighting trends to make your event’s atmosphere both stunning and memorable.
DÉCOR
o Embrace Individuality. This year, switch things up by creating tablescapes that contrast each other. While no two tables will be the same, they should complement one another and carry through on your event’s theme.
o All That Glitters. Glittery and shiny, gold and silver metallics are still in vogue, but now copper is shining through as this year’s hot alternative. Add polish to your décor with metallic chargers, vases, and flatware.
o Something Special. Greet your guests with personalized gift baskets as they arrive at your event. Include products that guests will enjoy and serve to remind them of the event such as soaps, candles, branded mugs, artisan cheeses and jams, and even event-labeled bottles of wine or sparkling cider.
o Best Buds. Incorporate arrangements with florals and greens unique to the event’s region. For example, centerpieces that feature cacti from the southwest, palm fronds from the south, or pine branches from the northeast.
LINENS
o Color Outside the Lines. Blast past the neutrals and incorporate more colors into your linens. Infuse your event with Pantone’s color of the year, ultra violet. Contrast with napkins in vibrant green, accent with table runners in deep purple, or add drama with black table skirts.
o Buy Design. Drape your tables in linens that stand out from the plain neutrals of the past. Look for bright florals, unique patterns, distinctive textures, and bold patterns.
o Both Sides Now. Choose reversible linens with a matte finish on one side and a shiny finish on the other. Alternate sides for each table.
o Make it Clear. Sheer fabrics are gaining popularity in what’s known as the “transparent trend,” giving your space a light and airy feel.
LIGHTING
o Cast a Spell. Make your ambience magical with video mapping, the projection technology used to turn irregularly shaped objects into a display surface.
o Moth to a Flame. Draw crowds into an intimate environment with candles and uplighting, still two solid choices this year.
o Up in the Air. Strings of globe-shaped café lights like those seen in bistros and cafes create a soft, whimsical atmosphere when strung across a room.
o Curtains Up. Large, static walls illuminated with LED curtains provide a simple and luminous backdrop.
