As seasons change, so do trends. Are you up-to-speed on what’s in and what’s out? Sheree Bochenek, Creative Director for Après Event Décor & Tent Rental gives us the scoop on what’s hot this cool fall season.
High Peak Tent
The High Peak Tent combines the practicality of the frame tent with the distinctive circus peaks of a century tent. The great advantage is that this tent does not require a center pole, giving it more usable interior room. It is available in various lengths and widths, and a sidewall can be added.

Specialty linen
In specialty linen, there are two emerging trends. The first is Mixed Metals, which combine gold and silver metallic threads with patterns found in nature, such as tree bark, marble, or geode. The result is a new lustrous spin on the tired rustic theme.
The second trend is Velvet. Look for burn-out patterns, or a plush lightweight solid textile in rich jewel tones such as citrine, garnet, and sapphire.

The Accent Plate
This is an 8” plate with a crafted design, such as a tribal or Oriental motif. Not meant to “match” other pieces in a table setting, the accent plate adds a bold, eye-catching detail.

Wood and Metal Serving Pieces
Whether it be a charger plate or a charcuterie tray, combining metal and wood on buffets is a welcome change from the usual white ceramic pieces. The metal may be hammered chrome, distressed gold, or burnished copper. The wood is often acacia, due to its durability and beautiful grain. Mix the pieces to create a curated feel to your buffet.
