When the temperature plummets outside, it’s your mission to make sure spirits rise inside. Warm up this year’s winter reception by hosting it in one of these wonderful Minnesota event centers or unique venues. Each one offers something special that truly brings out the best of the season and enhances your event.
Not only are golf courses and country clubs gorgeous in the summertime, the sight of rolling hills blanketed in wintertime snow can be just as breathtaking. Add some glittering lights in the trees and shimmering stars in a velvety sky and your guests will feel welcomed in the most festive way possible.
So many of these clubs fulfill your wish list, you may discover it’s hard to choose between them. Begin with fine dining, an elegant setting, and a warm, inviting ambiance like the one at Bunker Hills Event Center. Or perhaps you’d prefer Green Haven Golf Course with its charming banquet facilities that overlook the 18-hole championship golf course. Want the option of dinner and a show? Majestic Oaks Golf Club with its on-site dinner theater might be the ticket. Or, you may want to consider Rush Creek Golf Club with its spectacular ballroom featuring vaulted ceilings, stone fireplaces and panoramic views of the golf course.
Are you in search of a wide open space with lots of room for dancing and the option to bring in the caterer of your choice? Then it might be wise to explore an event center. Your guests will have the most wonderful time at the Mounds View Event Center that accommodates up to 350 people, has a spacious dance floor, and an open catering policy. Of course, the New Brighton Community Center boasts a large space as well with room for 240, flexible catering options, and a large dance floor with sound system. Take a look at the North Metro Event Center. You’ll appreciate the vast range of choices to accommodate everything from small gatherings to large banquets. Or contemplate the Shoreview Community Center with room for up to 300 and an on-site waterpark that will really make a splash.
Historical venues often offer grand architecture, spectacular interiors, and a sophisticated atmosphere you won’t find anywhere else. Such is the case at The James J. Hill Center. Located within view of the dazzlingly decorated trees of Rice Park in St. Paul, the center accommodates as many as 350 guests within its remarkable, grand marble and sandstone building.
Though its three rehearsal rooms available for rent were designed for performance rehearsals, many visitors have found the Minnesota Opera facilities ideal for banquets, benefits or galas. Large rustic brick walls, floor to ceiling windows, hard wood floors, and grand pianos make these spaces pitch perfect for your event.
Expect to see a holiday card come to life at the Minnesota Horse + Hunt Club. The open air pavilion and horse-drawn sleighs provide a festive note while on-site dining and overnight accommodations make for a cozy winter wonderland. And while you probably won’t hear any jingle bells at Canterbury Park, you will enjoy the celebratory surroundings in more than a dozen of their unique event spaces, along with live racing, simulcasting, poker, table games and gourmet dining.
A unique terrace, an eclectic art gallery, a spacious theater, and a sophisticated ballroom are just a few of the dozen spaces available in which your group cam have a jolly good time at the St. Paul Student Center at University of Minnesota. State-of-the-art AV equipment, kitchen prep space, special lighting capabilities, grand piano and even a mirror ball complete the package. For more intimate surroundings, the Minnesota Humanities Center shines. The historic building features classic meeting and event spaces for up to 150, plus 15 beautifully furnished rooms available for overnight guests.
Imagine the fun your guests will have at the Mermaid Entertainment and Event Center. Not only is there 100,000 square feet of event space, but guests can enjoy the bowling center, game room, on-site restaurant/bar, large indoor pool and relaxing guest rooms, including many whirlpool and fireplace suites. Or, put a different spin on your reception when you host it at the Roseville Skating Center + City Hall. With banquet facilities for up to 300, catering kitchen, as well as indoor and outdoor skate park, your guests won’t want the season to end.
