Millennium Minneapolis Undergoing $40M Renovation

The Millennium Minneapolis closed Monday, Nov. 4 to undergo a $40M renovation as it moves toward rebranding as the Sheraton Minneapolis Downtown Convention Center, bringing an entirely new elevated hotel and meetings experience to the Minneapolis community and the Midwest overall.

Slated to reopen in early 2025, the Sheraton Minneapolis Downtown Convention Center is being designed to bring modern elegance and convenience to the heart of the city. Planned with both business and leisure travelers in mind, the new property will offer stylish accommodations and state-of-the-art meeting spaces, steps away from the city’s premier meetings hub, the Minneapolis Convention Center. The LEED-Certified MCC offers 1.6 million square feet of space including a 3,400 fixed-seat auditorium, 475,000 sf of exhibit space, 87 meeting rooms, an 18,000-sf ballroom and a 9,000-sf ballroom.

Elevated Amenities for Meetings & Incentives

Guests will enjoy a full suite of amenities, including a fitness center, rooftop lounge with stunning city views and an on-site restaurant showcasing local flavors. Ideal for conferences, events, weekend getaways or incentive trips, the Sheraton Minneapolis Downtown is aiming for versatility in the heart of one of the region’s great cities.

Meanwhile, versatility in meetings will include 33,150 sf of event space including 19 event rooms, with the largest space hosting up to 600 theater-style.

As a member of Marriott International’s Brand Portfolio, the Sheraton Minneapolis Downtown will now be a part of Marriott Bonvoy, one of the world’s largest hotel rewards programs.
