Madden's on Gull Lake, an award-winning resort and vacation destination located on Gull Lake, will open for it's 89th season on April 20 with two brand new restaurants available to guests of the resort as well as the general public.
Mission Point, led by Chef Zane Scheffer, will be an upscale dining experience with a focus on steak and seafood. Chef Scheffer, a native of Pretoria, South Africa, has been with the resort since 2016. Featured menu selections will include: Scottish salmon, pan seared scallops and Minnesota driftless rainbow trout, along with options from the butcher and lighter bites. The restaurant, located in the Madden Lodge, will feature both indoor and outdoor dining options, available to those on property as well as those coming from Gull Lake by boat. Beginning April 20, Mission Point will host breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and dinner from 5-9 p.m. weekly. Additionally, outdoor dining at Mission Point will become available in late June from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Fairways, led by Madden's Executive Chef Bob Schuld, will focus on seasonal protein and vegetarian selections, along with appetizers and sides, offering something for the entire family. Featured menu options will include: seared duck breast, Jamaican jerk pork tenderloin, 16 ounce beef ribeye and Indian spiced vegetable skewers. The restaurant will also offer a Friday night walleye special and a Saturday night prime rib special. Schuld created the menu using timeless cooking techniques he's implemented at the resort since 1986, along with his experience working in kitchens around the U.S. and Switzerland. Fairways will open inside the Madden Inn & Golf Club and will offer seating for more than 260 guests as well as private dining for groups up to 30. The restaurant will offer breakfast from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and dinner from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
"We are excited to open the season with two new restaurant concepts for our guests and the general public," said Chief of Sales and Marketing at Madden's on Gull Lake, Abbey Pieper, in a news release. "Each restaurant will have a fresh new look, but we hope the menu offerings and great customer service will be the driver for guests and locals to continue coming back."
