When Wisconsin's smoking ban goes into effect next month, most people know they won't be able to have a cigarette in bars and restaurants.
But the same also goes for hotels and resorts.
Some hotel owners in our area are finding people trying to make reservations for smoking rooms for after July 5th.
But that's not allowed as part of the statewide ban.. smoking outside still is.
The Super 8 in Wausau has 11 smoking rooms left as it switches over.
And the assistant general manager believes people will get used to the change.
Keith Tesch/Super 8 Wausau Assistant General Manager: "At first whenever there's a change
it's kind of shaky at first but once the guests understand it, deal with it for a little while, they'll
become accustomed to it."
The smoking ban goes for all public style buildings.. including hotels.. motels and resorts.. as
well as bars and restaurants.
