The Western Slope is full of beautiful golf courses - from Glenwood Springs to Fruita, Rifle to Grand Junction - but there's one course in particular that's garnering all the attention. Redlands Mesa Golf Course got voted as the top public course in all of Colorado for the fifth year in a row by Avid Golfer Magazine.
General Manager CJ Rhyne credits his grounds crew for keeping the course in pristine shape.
"We feel very fortunate getting that award, being where we are locating in the state. People come out and see us out here and really like the golf course. We've been in the top 100 since we started out here in 2001," said Rhyne.
Despite all the awards and recognition, Redlands Mesa Golf Course wants to continue that tradition, and not simply be content with what they have now.
"There is always room for improvement and we strive all the time to do that," said Rhyne.
The course sits at the foot of the Colorado National Monument, and Redlands Mesa now has aerial footage of the course taken by a drone.
