Meeting Professionals International MN Chapter Recognizes Outstanding Meeting Professionals
The annual Meeting Professionals International Minnesota Chapter (MPI MN) Awards Gala was held at Treasure Island Resort & Casino on Thursday, May 20, 2010. This is an annual event recognizing outstanding chapter members and their accomplishments within MPI MN.
The Excellence in MPI (EMPI) Awards are awarded to chapter members who exemplify strong support and participation needed to help the chapter and industry grow and succeed. The following winners were awarded in each category:
Meeting / Event of the Year: Honeywell Nobel Initiative - University of Minnesota
Meeting Planner of the Year: Ellie Madsen, RBC Wealth
Supplier of the Year: San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau, Kelly Cavers
Best Supporting Company of the Year: Jean Riegelman, Treasure Island Resort & Casino
Outstanding Chapter Member of the Year: Barb Oswell, Odyssey Resorts
Rising Star of the Year: Abigail Weber, Metropolitan Airport Commission
Mentor of the Year: Devie Hagen, Elan Speakers Agency
MPI MN received a Recognizing Industry Success and Excellence (RISE) Award for Community
Achievement and Knowledge and Ideas. This will be awarded at the MPI World Education Congress (WEC) held in Vancouver, Canada on July 24, 2010. The Award acknowledges MPI MN’s “Mentoring: Power of 2” program, which was implemented in 2008 to connect members at any stage of their career to promote career development, expand skill set, and advance professional goals. The program teams up pairs who meet two to four times per month for a three-month period to learn from each other and expand professional goals of the mentee.
