About the Speaker
Steven G. Foster, CMP, CTA

Steven Foster has been named one of the most influential people in meetings and events. He is a nationally recognized industry leader who speaks and writes frequently on the topics of leadership development, strategic planning and team success.
Foster has a solid history of building successful organizations and leading award-winning efforts in meeting planning, destination management and special event production. He has been an active member of MPI for decades, serving as president of the MPI Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter in 1999-2000. The chapter named him its Supplier of the Year in 2000 and honored his contributions twice with its President’s Award in 2004 and 2010.
Foster is also the managing partner of Circle R Ranch, a 100-acre event ranch outside Dallas, Texas, where he and his wife direct a staff of 100 employees and produce more than 300 events each year. In 1999, the Fosters became the first husband/wife business team to earn the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation.
Foster is currently working on several new book projects, including one entitled “The Leadership Compass.” He is a member of the North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee, serving alongside NFL Hall of Fame running back Tony Dorsett as vice-chair of the Volunteer Services Action Team. Foster and Dorsett will coordinate all volunteer activities for the big game, which will be played in Cowboys Stadium on February 6, 2011.
