The Colorado Springs Renaissance Hotel and Conference Center may be finished at last now that a buyer has been found for the luxury property, the Colorado Springs Business Journal reports.
Construction of the 11-story hotel stopped in 2009 after the owner, Missouri billionaire John Q. Hammons, ran into financing issues. Hammons died last year, two years after the hotel was sold to current owner Flintco LLC at a foreclosure auction. Tulsa-based Flintco, which paid $22.2 million, put the property up for sale.
The hotel is now under contract. The Gazette newspaper reported the buyer may be Colorado Springs homebuilder Classic Cos., but the company's CEO declined to comment.
