The Hampton Inn & Suites Milwaukee Downtown will undergo a major remodeling project under its new owner that bought the hotel in January.
Magna Hospitality Group plans to renovate all of the 138 guest rooms and hallways starting later this month, said Misty Kingsley, who took over as general manager in early February. The changes will include all-new furniture, lighting, carpet and wallpaper. The project also will include an updated pool area, business center, entrances and meeting rooms. Most of the work will be finished by July 18, she said. Kingsley did not have an estimate of the renovation cost.
The hotel will be one of the first to get new furniture that is part of the Hampton brand’s new look, she said.
Magna, based in Warwick, R.I., bought the hotel at 176 W. Wisconsin Ave., Milwaukee, in January for $8.3 million. It also owns the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott, 710 N. Old World Third St., previously a Best Western Inn Towne Hotel.
Kingsley was front office manager of the downtown Hampton from 2009-2012. In the interim, she was front office manager of the Hilton Garden Inn Milwaukee Park Place on Milwaukee’s northwest side.
