Just in time for Valentine's Day, Shakopee’s River Valley Theatre Company has partnered with Stonebrooke Golf Club in Shakopee to bring the perfect date night out — dinner theater.
Guests can enjoy dinner and the musical comedy, “I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change,” at Stonebrooke.
The play is described as “paying tribute to those who have loved and lost, to those who have fallen on their face at the portal of romance, to those who have dared to ask, 'Say, what are you doing Saturday night?’”
Told through a series of musical vignettes, this celebration of the mating game takes on the truths and myths behind that contemporary conundrum know as “the relationship.” Act I explores the journey from dating and waiting to love and marriage, while Act II reveals the agonies and triumphs of in-laws and newborns, trips in the family car and pick-up techniques of the geriatric set.
There are six performances:
• Friday and Saturday, Feb. 14 and 15, 8 p.m. (dinner seating 6-6:30 p.m.).
• Sunday, Feb. 16, 1 p.m. (lunch seating 11-11:30 a.m.).
• Friday and Saturday, Feb. 21 and 22, 8 p.m. (dinner seating 6-6:30 p.m.).
• Sunday, Feb. 23, 1 p.m. (lunch seating 11-11:30 a.m.).
Tickets are $40 to $50 and can be reserved through Stonebrooke's online reservation system. The ticket includes dinner (salad, roll, choice of entree, seasonal vegetable, potatoes, and coffee or soft drink) and the show.
