A massive property transformation has begun at the Denver Marriott Tech Center, which the hotel says will upgrade its appeal as a destination for business and leisure travelers. The renovations will include more meeting space, a Marriott M Club lounge and a luxury Extended Stay Executive accommodation area. The hotel, located at 4617 S. Syracuse St. on the Denver side of the DTC, will remain open during renovations.
The two-phase, yearlong, renovation of the two-tower hotel has begun and will be completed by September 2016. The hotel’s lobby will get a major facelift, including a freestanding restaurant in the lobby atrium and a market center. The fitness center will be enlarged and updated, as well as some 50,000 square feet of meeting space. The hotel’s 605 guest rooms will be overhauled to feature contemporary furniture, 49-inch flat screen TVs, refrigerators and new bathrooms.
The room renovation, in shades of grays, browns and blues to reflect the natural beauty and rich minerals of Colorado, is designed by Parker-Torres Design Inc. The upgrade will include upgraded hospitality technology, including Marriott’s new in-room entertainment system featuring Netflix, the latest Wi-Fi technology, mobile check-in and state-of-the-art reader boards. The hotel is also creating 36 upscale Extended Stay executive studios and five Extended Stay executive suites that will feature separate living, kitchen, and sleeping spaces and 5,000 square feet of additional meeting space configured into four breakout rooms.
The hotel is owned by Bethesda, Maryland-based Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc. and managed by Denver’s Sage Hospitality. The transformation supports Marriott’s “Travel Brilliantly” philosophy. The hotel says it is minimizing impact on guests, and is offering a group bonus promotion during the renovation that includes various incentives, including a Marriott Rewards point award, craft brewery tours and a Apple watch.
