DENVER, May 21, 2014 /Nassau News Live/ – Guests of the Denver Marriott City Center will strike it rich in comfort and convenience thanks to the completion of a major lobby renovation.
Visitors will feel the warmth of the new welcome center the second they step foot into the hotel in Denver, CO. Taking a cue from the surrounding mountain ranges while paying homage to the Mile High City’s mining heritage, professionals at Design Directions International infused rich gold and silver colors into new artwork, carpets and furniture throughout the spaces. A two-story stone fireplace serves as the centerpiece of the new area and provides guests with a cozy spot to meet friends or colleagues, enjoy a hearty meal and appreciate the beauty of the outdoors and vibrant natural light from the comfort of the indoors.
“The colors and textures of the stacked stone celebrate the sights and experiences you’d expect to find in the mountains,” said Sherry Decker of Design Directions International, the award-winning interior design firm responsible for the makeover. “Echoes of the locale are woven into the carpet designs in the color and pattern choices. Looking at the overall carpet designs, you might see a mountain mirror image lake or explosive crystals moving toward the surface.”
Custom chandeliers and pendants that resemble crystal formations complement the mica wall coverings on the lobby ceiling, while stone-cut porcelain tiles adorn the floor. The rock crystal pendant light fixtures on the upper level of the lobby invites visitors from the 16th Street shopping area to peer in and see what’s happening. Poured concrete tabletops boast inlaid gems to add a little glamor to cozy seating. Welcome pods – backed by a new art instillation that resembles stone formations – have replaced the traditional front desk so friendly and prompt staff members can provide one-on-one attention during the check-in and check-out processes.
The interactive, all-day food and beverage area features stacked stone accent walls, bedazzled wall coverings that appear to be gold and unique lighting treatments that look like aspen leaves and stalactites. A Starbucks with indoor and outdoor seating was added so visitors can sip their favorite coffees or Italian-style espresso beverages in style all day long.
“These elements capture the trend required of today’s traveler,” said Bill Ninivaggi, general manager of the Denver Marriott City Center. “Giving modern discoverers a sense of local culture was our goal, and the many hidden gems throughout this space will allow guests to relax, eat and play all under one roof. We are excited for Denverites and visitors to experience our reimagined lobby that serves as the heart of our hotel.”
Modern technologies were seamlessly weaved into the new lobby as well. Casual seating areas sport flat-screen LCD TVs so visitors can get the latest local, world, entertainment and sports news. High-speed Internet access allows leisure travelers to stay connected to their favorite social media channels and keeps business professionals tethered to their email accounts so they can be as productive as possible away from the office.
The downtown Denver hotel hopes to pique the interest of locals and visitors by offering a special Weekend Breakfast and Parking Package that not only showcases the modern lobby but also affords deluxe accommodations from $139 per Thursday through Sunday night. The package, available through Dec. 10, 2014, includes free parking for one vehicle (a savings of $35 per day) and complimentary breakfast for two at Allie’s American Grille. To take advantage of the Denver hotel deal, which requires a Friday or Saturday night stay, travelers should use promotional code W36 when booking online or calling 1-800-228-9290.
