Still, the Centennial State is home to six of the top 10 resorts in the West and eight of the top 10 hotels in the region representing Colorado, Montana, Utah and Wyoming. And they hold the top four spots on each list.
Topping the list of resorts is the St. Regis Aspen Resort, which scores a 94.8. Just one-tenth of a point behind it is the Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa at Beaver Creek Mountain, which scored the No. 42 ranking among all lodging properties in the world last year in the Condé Nast awards.
“We are thrilled to be ranked so highly by Condé Nast Traveler readers on this list of fantastic Western resorts,” said Jeffery Burrell, Westin Riverfront general manager. “We truly appreciate the support of our loyal past guests as we gear up for another amazing ski season.”
Behind those two on the list of top Western resorts are:
• No. 3: Fairmount Heritage Place, Franz Klammer Lodge in Telluride;
• No. 4: Lumiere Telluride;
• No. 9: The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs;
• No. 10: Four Seasons Resort Vail.
Meanwhile, the Beaumont Hotel & Spa in Ouray took the reader award for the best hotel in the West. It was followed by:
• No. 2: Oxford Hotel in Denver;
• No. 3: Hotel Teatro in Denver;
• No. 4: St. Julien Hotel & Spa in Boulder;
• No. 6: Four Seasons Hotel Denver;
• No. 7: Brown Palace Hotel & Spa in Denver;
• No. 8: Ritz-Carlton Denver;
• No. 9: Hotel Monaco in Denver.
