Alexandria, Va. The Convention Industry Council’s (CIC) APEX Standards Committee released the RFP Strategy Guide on Event Internet and Communications, with the inclusion of a fill-in excel resource. As the complexity of internet for meetings rises, so does the required due diligence around sourcing of services, pricing, and value.
The guide serves as way for industry professionals to initiate and steer the conversation with a venue about an event’s Internet and Communications needs.
“As the preeminent organization for the meetings, conventions, and exhibitions industry, the CIC understands that the needs of meeting and event professionals are ever-changing. It’s our duty to adapt to those changes and provide resources to help planners efficiently execute and excel in their professional lives,” said Karen Kotowski, CMP, CAE, CEO of the CIC.
“This helps industry professionals better understand bandwidth requirements and determine their best approach to meeting connectivity,” said John Rissi, chair of the APEX Standards Committee. “The guide shows you what to ask venues and even includes a strategy to ensure transparency while negotiating price. It’s a great addition to APEX’s growing list of resources.”
The contributors to the Strategy Guide are Matt Harvey, Michael Owen, John Rissi, MaryAnne Bobrow, CMP, CAE, CMM, CHE, and Mariela Mcillwraith, CMP, CAE, MBA.
The CIC's 33 member organizations represent over 103,500 individuals and 19,500 firms and properties involved in the meetings, conventions, and exhibitions industry.
