The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs tops a list of 20 "Platinum Hotels" for 2012, chosen
by readers and compiled by Celebrated Living, a luxury-oriented magazine for premiumclass
passengers of American Airlines and American Eagle.
The magazine lists U.S. hotels that offer "unique experiences and a sense of place" to
"well-traveled, time-challenged hotel guests."
"Readers called out this year's No. 1 American pick, ... The Broadmoor resort, ... for
authenticity. Its golf, tennis, and spa programs provide on-property appeal, but to satisfy
guest demand for local experience, the resort increasingly organizes horseback rides in
the mountains," Celebrated Living says.“We are seeing more and more requests for adventure. Guests want to do something different, out of the box,” said Dennis Lesko, the Broadmoor’s marketing vice president. “If it’s not in our repertoire, we’ll improvise.”
The Broadmoor is the only Colorado hotel on the list. It's followed by the JW Marriott
Camelback Inn Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, Ariz., and the Beverly Hills Hotel and
Bungalows in Beverly Hills, Calif.
