A day after IndyCar announced its title sponsorship deal with global telecommunications and data giant NTT on Tuesday, Road America announced the name of its IndyCar race: the REV Group Grand Prix.
REV Group is a Milwaukee-based manufacturer of specialty vehicles such as ambulances, firetrucks, yard trucks, sweepers and recreational vehicles.
Tim Sullivan, the president and CEO of REV Group, has been involved in title sponsorships before at the Elkhart Lake track while holding similar positions with Gardner Denver and Bucyrus.
The REV Group Grand Prix is scheduled for 11 a.m. June 23 with over-the-air television coverage on NBC.
Indy-style cars have raced on the 4-mile Road America layout 28 times since 1982, the past three of those as part of the (then-Verizon) IndyCar Series.
REV Group replaces Kohler, the Sheboygan County plumbing products manufacturer, as title sponsor.
