New Ho-Chunk Casino in Wisconsin to feature four restaurants, a bar, and a 312-room hotel

By: John Clark BELOIT, Wis. (WTVO) — Details have begun to emerge on the future Ho-Chunk Gaming Casino in Beloit.

Plans include a $405 million casino, convention, and 18-story hotel to be built at the southeast corner of Willowbrook and Colley roads between Willowbrook Road and Interstate 39-90.

The 240,478-square-foot casino will house a 62-seat bar, four restaurants with an outdoor patio, a 76,413-square-foot conference center, a 312-room hotel—with a lobby bar, rooftop bar, and spa—and a parking structure to be built in separate phases after the initial casino opens.

The eventual hotel facade will use a color-changing media mesh lighting system to “create waterfall effects, chasing sequences of color and a variety of video and patterns with content that could include branding, holidays, and special events.”

The casino project won approval from the federal Bureau of Indian Affairs in 2020, and the plan was approved by Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers in 2021.

The Ho-Chunk Nation’s development is expected to bring 1,500 jobs to the City of Beloit.

The city will receive $13 million in federal funding to improve roads and infrastructure around the casino site. Bike and pedestrian lanes will be added to Willowbrook Road from Milwaukee Road to the state line and Colley Road to Gateway Boulevard. Additional traffic lights and other intersection improvements will also be made.

The Master Plan and Zoning Map Amendment passed through the Plan Commission on July 17th and is headed toward the full City Council for a public hearing on August 5th.

The Beloit Casino will be located about 19 miles north of Rockford’s Hard Rock Casino along Interstate 90.

Construction on the Hard Rock Casino Rockford is moving toward completion before its late summer 2024 opening date.
