Harenda will lead construction as general contractor, joining the Cedar Rapids' investment company to co-develop the property at 304 N. Adams Street in downtown Green Bay. In a press release Monday, Harenda said he plans to hire local contractors as part of the construction.
“We’re pleased to be part of restoring the grandeur of this hotel and reinterpreting that history into a property that appeals to the next generation,” Harenda said.
KPH Construction has led several historic restoration projects, including the Federal Courthouse in Milwaukee.
The $38 million restoration of the 10-story Tudor Revival building is expected to capitalize on the state's relatively new historic redevelopment tax credit program. Once work concludes, the property is intended to be the center of Green Bay’s downtown social scene with a bar, restaurant and entertainment venue, as well as a spa and private club.
Another Milwaukee company, Company B Brand Marketing, has been tapped to manage the overall branding, public relations and ongoing marketing of Hotel Northland.
