Crescent Hotels & Resorts has been selected to again manage the recently renovated 389-room Sheraton Milwaukee Brookfield hotel, which the company previously owned before giving up title to it in 2012 to avoid possible foreclosure.
Crescent Hotels, based in Fairfax, Va., assumes management of the hotel from Hostmark Hospitality Group, based in Schaumburg, Ill. Hostmark had managed the Sheraton since 2015.
The Sheraton Milwaukee Brookfield, 375 S. Moorland Road, is just south of Brookfield Square and is Waukesha County's largest hotel. This year's renovations include an update of the Sheraton’s 19,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The hotel also now offers new dining options, including The Craft Room for classic Midwestern cuisine, as well as a brand new private Sheraton Club Lounge, a 24-hour fitness facility, indoor and outdoor pools, 24-hour business center and concierge services.
“Crescent’s extensive operating experience with Sheraton properties and being an award winning Marriott Manager will maximize the potential of this beautiful asset,” said Michael George, CEO of Crescent Hotels & Resorts, in a press release.
Under a new partnership with the local Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha (HAWS), the Sheraton becomes the temporary home for HAWS' dogs to provide greater visibility for the shelter's pets and allow guests to interact with the dogs. The partnership, announced in February, is designed to promote pet adoption.
Crescent renovated the building after acquiring it in 2007. A company linked to a Goldman Sachs subsidiary in July 2012 took over a $23.4 million construction mortgage on the building that Crescent obtained from Wells Fargo in 2007, according to information from the Waukesha County Register of Deeds office. Crescent continued to manage the hotel after giving up ownership.
