The newest hotel in St. Louis Park will bring a heated rooftop bar to the West End.
The six-story AC Hotel Minneapolis West End also has 126 rooms, 1,000 square feet of meeting space and a lounge and kitchen.
Willmar-based TPI Hospitality developed the hotel and now manages it. Tech Builders of Fairmont was the general contractor.
The hotel, at 5075 Wayzata Blvd., will open on Tuesday. Some of the inaugural guests will be the varsity and junior varsity hockey teams from Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., where a gunman killed 17 people on Feb. 14. The teams are coming to town to play in the USA Youth Hockey National Championships in Plymouth.
AC is a relatively new, Spanish-inspired Marriott International brand. This is the third Twin Cities hotel, with the first opening last year in downtown Minneapolis. A second opened near Mall of America in February.
The hotel cost $14 million to build, according to the city of St. Louis Park.
