Greenwood Village is getting a Westin hotel that will be one of the largest hospitality properties in the Denver Tech Center area.
The Westin Greenwood Village will feature 203 rooms, a restaurant and 10,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. It is slated to open in 2016.
Owned by Greenwood Village Hotel LLC — a joint venture formed by Denver-based asset manager Waveland Ventures LLC and Milwaukee-based hotel developer Jackson Street Holdings LLC — and managed by White Lodging Services Corp. of Merrillville, Ind., the Westin Greenwood Village will be adjacent to the Arapahoe light rail station and across the street from Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre.
It is intended to attract both business and leisure travelers, officials said in announcing the development on Wednesday.
“We are delighted to bring the Westin brand to Greenwood Village, a leading business hub where guests will also enjoy convenient access to upscale shops, dining and entertainment,” said Brian Povinelli, global brand leader for Westin Hotels & Resorts.
Westin is part of the Starwood Hotels and Worldwide Resorts portfolio that includes more than 1,200 properties, including the Aloft, Element and Four Points by Sheraton brands.
