Mahnomen, Minn. – The White Earth Nation Tribal Council has promoted William “Bill” Marsh to general manager and Mindy Iverson to assistant general manager of Shooting Star Casino, Hotel and Event Center, in Mahnomen.
Marsh, a member of Michigan’s Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians, has more than 14 years of professional and executive-level experience in the Indian gaming industry, and has served as Shooting Star Casino’s director of marketing since 2010. He has been responsible for all facets of casino marketing, including strategy development, branding, advertising, media, promotions, player development, database (mining and analysis), direct mail, public relations, group tours, sales, revenue projections, entertainment and in-house graphics. He has also been involved in team building, coaching, vision creation, planning and development, and training in gaming environments. Marsh holds both a master’s degree in business administration and marketing and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.
Iverson, an enrolled member of the White Earth Nation, has 16 years of executive and professional experience in the gaming and retail industries, and has served as Shooting Star Casino’s human resources director since 2008. She holds an Advanced Tribal Human Resource Professional Certification from Falmouth Institute, which provides quality and comprehensive education and information services to the North American Indian community, and is also a member of the Native Nation Institute’s Rebuilders Program. Iverson attended Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minn.
