Sentry Insurance announces closing of @1800 restaurant
STEVENS POINT – Sentry Insurance announced Sunday that its restaurant, @1800, has been closed effective immediately.
According to a press release, the closing of the restaurant — located inside the Sentry Insurance building at 1800 Northpoint Drive — is the first step in a long-range plan to renovate the public facing areas surrounding the Sentry Theater.
Plans for the space have not yet been finalized, according to the release, and Sentry is currently evaluating several renovation options. Closing the restaurant will allow project planners to review the space and surrounding areas without interruption.
The Sentry Theater will remain open for performances during the planning process and any renovation work.
Most employees who worked at the restaurant are expected to be offered positions within the SentryWorld banquet operation or the PJ’s – SentryWorld restaurant, according to the release. Customers who had reservations or scheduled events with @1800 restaurant will be contacted in order to make alternate plans and accommodations.
