Potawatomi Bingo Casino has hired an executive with experience at two casino hotels as the first director of its hotel, it said Wednesday in a news release.
Hassan Abdel-Moneim has previously served as vice president of hotel operations at the Four Winds Casino Resort in New Buffalo, Mich., and director of hotel operations at the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, Minn. He also has worked for Hilton, Sheraton and the Millennium Hotel in Minneapolis. Most recently, he had a job attracting and developing business in the United Arab Emirates.
The 18-story, 381-room hotel is expected to open in fall 2014. It is one of several hotels that are planned or have recently opened in and around downtown Milwaukee, raising concerns that there could be too much supply. But Potawatomi has said most of its hotel guests will be new visitors looking to use the casino facility.
