Mike Brunkow, the managing director for The Hotel Minneapolis, has taken the job of general manager of the all-suite Northland Inn Hotel and Conference Center in Brooklyn Park.
In his new role, Brunkow will oversee the hotel's renovation efforts planned for 2011 and help provide stable management for the hotel, which fell into foreclosure last year under previous ownership. The property, previously owned and developed by Parkland Hotel Investors, was acquired by Providence, R.I.-based Hotel Asset Value Enhancement Inc., one of the nation's largest hotel real estate advisory firms, in October 2010.
Brunkow most recently served as managing director for The Hotel Minneapolis, a 222-room hotel in downtown Minneapolis, where he received high rankings for quality assurance and guest service, Northland Inn said in a press release.
Northland Inn is a 231-room, all-suite hotel located at the intersection of Interstate 94 and Boone Avenue. It has more than 33,000 square feet of meeting space, including two ballrooms, a 140-seat amphitheater, an executive board room and 25 meeting breakout rooms.
