A four-story, 118-room TownPlace Suites by Marriott Hotel has been proposed for 2500 Lindau Lane, near the Mall of America.
The two-acre site is owned by the city of Bloomington, according to a public meeting notice from the city.
The city describes the location of the extended-service hotel as being on the northeast corner of Lindau Lane and 24th Avenue South.
The hotel will be considered by the Bloomington Planning Commission Jan. 23.
City officials and a representative of the hotel developer, Park City, Utah-based Terratron, couldn't immediately be reached for comment. The Bloomington Port Authority has a deal to sell the site to Terratron for $1.8 million.
TownPlace Suites by Marriott lists on its website five other locations in Minnesota: downtown Minneapolis, Eden Prairie, Eagan, St. Louis Park and Rochester. The style of hotel typically has full kitchens, internet and workspaces along with an exercise room, indoor pool, and spa.
The architect is Jeff Williams, based in Seattle and the landscape architect is The LA Studio, based in Seattle.
