MINNEAPOLIS The Marquette Hotel announced its nearing completion on a $25 million transformation and conversion to the Curio Collection by Hilton portfolio. After the conversion, The Marquette Hotel will mark Curio Collection’s first hotel in Minnesota when it joins the collection late June 2017, after the renovations.
Located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis at 710 Marquette Ave., the hotel’s redesign and conversion is focused on showcasing the history of Minneapolis while paying homage to the explorer, Jacques Marquette, with whom the hotel earns its name and location. With proximity to Target Field, Target Center, Orpheum Theatre, and Orchestra Hall, the hotel’s neighborhood is central to downtown.
Known for its classic approach to style and service, the renovation will mark the next chapter for the lauded property. A full redesign by Mark Zeff Design will serve as the backdrop to the property’s 282-completely updated rooms as well as a new lobby, food & beverage outlets, public spaces and more.
“The Marquette Hotel, is situated perfectly for travelers looking to experience the best of what this area has to offer,” said John Wright, director of sales and marketing for Marquette Hotel. “The renovations will enhance this property’s rich history complemented by modern amenities [and signature service].”
The renovation will include the addition of Jacques, the new signature restaurant at the Marquette, that will hold a street-level entrance on Marquette Ave. South, ideal for locals and visitors to the hotel.
The Marquette Hotel will offer amenities that include a 24-hour fitness center, 24-hour room service, 24-hour business center, bicycle rentals, in-room massages and personal shoppers. Rounding out the distinct property’s offerings is over 25,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space.
This includes Windows on Minnesota—a 13,000-square-foot space, on the 50th floor. The space is ideal for hosting formal occasions and offers views of Minneapolis. Galaxy Ballroom, the largest of the hotel’s four grand ballrooms, is a 4,416-square-foot space, and has been updated to match the hotel’s new modern look.
