Marcus Hotels & Resorts closed the Paradise Landing water park March 3rd at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center hotel in downtown Milwaukee.
Steve Magnuson, vice president of operations for Marcus Hotels & Resorts, said the decision to close the water park, which opened in 2000 as the first urban indoor water park in the country, was made "after much consideration." He said the Milwaukee-based company will repurpose the space in a fashion that's more beneficial to guests.
"We are always looking for new features and amenities that will appeal to the needs of today’s travelers, and look forward to this next step for the Hilton Milwaukee," Magnuson said in a statement. "We are excited about the potential this space has and look forward to updating you on the plans for this new space in the near future."
Magnuson did not provide details on any future plans for the space.
Paradise Landing is a 20,000-square-foot indoor water park at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center, a convention center hotel across the street from the Delta Center. Marcus Hotels & Resorts also operates a water park at the Timber Ridge Lodge & Waterpark at its Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva. Marcus Hotels is a division of Milwaukee-based Marcus Corp.
