Roseville, Minn. – The Midwest Society of Association Executives (MSAE), the “association for associations” serving more than 1,200 association management professionals in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota, has changed its name to Associations North, effective May 18, 2016. In addition to the new name, the organization unveiled a new corporate identity during its 60th Annual Meeting and Expo in Minneapolis on Wednesday, May 18, 2016.
"The new name – Associations North – is succinct, clear and approachable,” said Ann Kvaal, CAE, 2016-2017 Chair of Associations North. “It allows us to simplify how we talk about this great organization and conveys our essential value of ‘advancement’ to the wider association community.”
Kathy Johnson, CAE, and President of Associations North added, "As an organization with a rich, 60-year history, we are committed to continued relevance for the local association management profession in the face of industry change. This rebrand and the process our board of directors and taskforce volunteers took to get here, serve as a flagship for associations throughout the Midwest who find themselves in a similar position; this is all about the future and advancing our profession.”
The new name is effective immediately, and will be implemented across the organization’s products and services throughout the calendar year 2016, the same year the organization celebrates its 60th anniversary. A special presentation of the new name and corporate identity was held during the Annual Meeting and Expo, the organization’s largest conference of the year, on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, from 12:15 – 1:15 p.m. CT at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
