Iron Horse Hotel's new top chef comes from Chicago

The Iron Horse Hotel has hired a new executive chef, the fourth to start work at the hotel since it opened less than five years ago.

Grant Slauterbeck is a Detroit native who has worked at several Chicago restaurants, including One North Kitchen and Bar, Glenview House and D.O.C. Wine Bar, according to a news release from Iron Horse.

The new chef is part of a series of “new menus, spaces and faces” planned for the food and beverage operations at Iron Horse, 500 W. Florida St., Milwaukee, the release said. Slauterbeck will bring his “inventive yet casual” style to an upcoming seasonal menu at Smyth, Iron Horse’s main restaurant, it said. The Yard, Iron Horse’s large outdoor patio, is scheduled to open May 26.
