A veteran of the gaming industry is the new general manager of Sioux City's Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino announced Todd Moyer as their general manager.
He's worked in the casino business all over the country, spending more than 10 years in Las Vegas, but currently works for a casino in Dubuque, Iowa.
Moyer says he's excited about the opportunity the new venue will create in the Sioux City downtown area. "I think the entertainment scene is what's really going to be revolutionized. I think it'll spur a lot of other live entertainment in town and it'll create more of an entertainment center, so I think a lot of the local bars and lounges will add entertainment," Todd Moyer, General Manager of Sioux City Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
But, the future of the Hard Rock isn't certain. On Thursday, a Polk County judge will hear arguments to stop all construction on the Hard Rock pending a hearing on the Argosy Casino's gaming license. The license was denied by the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission in August.
