Visitors to Northwest Iowa's Grand Falls Casino Resort will soon have a new challenge to take on.
The casino showed off its new 18–hole Championship golf course to the media today. The course won't actually be open for play until next spring, thanks to bad weather slowing construction of the course, which is near Larchwood in Lyon County.
The Golf Director at Grand Falls says the new course already has several big events planned for next year.
"We already have some tournaments booked for 2015, the headliner of that will be the 2015 Culver's Midwest Cup next August. It is a tournament that hosts armatures from nine states, a very big deal for us," said Golf Director Jason Wagamon.
The casino will let a few guests onto the course later this fall for a sneak peek before the official opening next spring.
