DENVER (CBS) The new Four Seasons hotel in downtown Denver is now open for business. On Tuesday there was a reception for guests and tours of the new facility.
CBS4's Critic at Large Greg Moody joined in the tour.
The new hotel has 239 rooms and with the 102 private abodes on top, it's the fourth tallest building in downtown Denver.
"I've got to tell you, it's pretty darn swanky," Moody said.
One of the standard rooms is called the Corner King Room. The room Moody saw had spectacular views and its own espresso machine.
"They've got a really nice bathroom setup with a nice shower … and then there's the complimentary soap. You know this is good stuff because all the printing is in French," Moody joked.
"There is even a TV set right in the bathroom mirror."
There are over 1,200 pieces of original art -- 90 percent of them are from Colorado artists.
There are couples rooms in the spa, so lovebirds can get a massage treatment at the same time.
There is also a beautiful fitness center with a Pilates studio. Of course there is also a large pool.
There are two large ballrooms.
"Every bride in Denver should be getting in line to get their wedding reception done here, so Dad, get out your checkbook," Moody said.
The hotel officially opened for business at noon on Tuesday and was doing booming business. It's already sold out some dates in November.
A few years ago Denver wasn't getting many conventions because of the lack of hotel rooms, but the city won't have that problem anymore.
