Denver developer Evan Makovsky has acquired the Best Western Golden Buff Lodge in Boulder and the right to build two hotels on the site, the Daily Camera reports.
His company, NAI Shames Makovsky, paid an undisclosed price for the hotel, at 1725 28th St., which has been operated by the same family since 1958. Makovsky was a co-developer in plans by Boulder developer Scott Pedersen to build a 184-room hotel and a 177-room hotel on the Golden Buff site. Now Makovsky is the lone developer of the project, which also includes construction of a commercial building.
The Boulder Planning Board in January approved Pedersen's construction plans for the site.
