The Curtis hotel in downtown Denver has sold for $86 million to a partnership between Sage Hospitality and New York-based AllianceBernstein Holding LP.
The property — officially known as the Curtis – a DoubleTree by Hilton — was formerly owned by a partnership between Sage and Fundamental Advisors LP.
The hotel — known for its quirky decor and retro pop-culture vibe — is located at 1405 Curtis St. across the street from the Denver Performing Arts Complex.

Last year it wrapped up $7 million in renovations to its rooms and lobby.
According to Denver County property records, the Curtis last sold in 2011 for $68 million.
AllianceBernstein (NYSE: AB) is a publicly traded investment management firm with $499 billion in preliminary assets under management as of April.
