Broadmoor Opens Luxury Guest Ranch in Colorado Springs

The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colo., has opened The Ranch at Emerald Valley, a luxury guest ranch and wilderness retreat in Pike National Forest, approximately eight miles west of the resort, it announced last week.

Originally announced in January, the all-inclusive ranch features 10 cabins — sleeping a total of 32 guests — each of which includes wood-burning fireplaces, private decks, a coffee and tea bar and oversized showers. The largest cabin, the Hill Cabin, sleeps up to 10 people and includes a chef’s kitchen and a private fire pit.

Ranch guests are served chef-prepared meals and may partake in activities such as fly fishing, hiking, horseback riding and wildlife watching. They also may access all the amenities at The Broadmoor — multiple swimming pools, a fitness center, golf, shops, a spa and several dining options — which are accessible via available transportation to and from the resort.

Open seasonally from May until October, the ranch originally was purchased in 1923 by gold magnate Spencer Penrose, who built The Broadmoor in 1918 and used the ranch — then called Camp Vigil — as his personal retreat.
