Booking entertainment for your next event and not sure where to find it? Founder and Director of Enticing Entertainment, Justen Pohl, fills us in on how their team works and the best approach to finding entertainment that your guests will love.
Q. Tell me briefly about Enticing Entertainment and your role there
A. For five years Enticing Entertainment has been building customized event experiences with entertainment at the foundation. We manage all aspects of production, putting the acts together, coordinating with the sales team, the vendors, the venues, and the costume and set designers. We make sure everything has an overall cohesive look for every event. I refer to myself as The Ringleader here.
Q. How do planners find you?
A. Most clients find us through word of mouth from past clients or vendors and venues. We’ve established good connections with vendors and venues in the Twin Cities and work closely with them. In this way, we can ensure the entertainment goes with the event theme, décor, and catering. It’s really a team effort and we all do refer each other.
We’ve also established a reputation in the industry because we’ve received several awards including winners of the ISES Star Award, ILEA International, Biz Bash, and MN Star Awards for Best Entertainment Production.
Q. Why is it better to book through an agency like yours than just Google “entertainers”?
A. We really don’t see ourselves as an agency, but as a production house. We oversee the costumes, the makeup, the complete look of the event, the timeline, and the entire evening. When you work with us, you’re working with more than just an agency that books out talent. Booking with us is also about the relationships we’ve established with décor companies, vendors, and venues. We’ve even established relationships with fire marshals and will work to obtain all necessary permits. Plus, we work fast, and we’re fully insured.
Q. What tips would you offer planners when they’re looking for entertainment for their event?
A. Start thinking about the entertainment at the beginning of the planning process. That’s a huge key for staging a successful event. It’s more fun and entertaining when you choose entertainment first. It allows you to pick a theme for your event and it makes it easier for décor vendors to come in and match that. It sets the stage for working with caterers. When you begin the process with entertainment and don’t leave it as an afterthought to piece in later, it makes it easier for everyone involved.
